Saving the World Before the Bad Ending

"You want to erase my memories, but I want you to remember me forever."

In 2089, memory erasure has become a standard government "mental health service."

Every day, Chief Scientist Yan Shuyao personally wipes away the painful memories of hundreds of people, until she receives an "illegal memory" from thirty years ago. Hidden inside an unreleased game, Love Among the Stars, is the digital consciousness of designer Cheng Xiaoyang, who was supposed to have been erased twenty years ago.

"Every time you delete a memory, ten memories are reborn here with me."

In the game, Cheng Xiaoyang is gentle and considerate. In reality, he is the sharp-edged leader of the Memory Resistance.

Calm and composed in the laboratory, Yan Shuyao secretly logs into illegal servers late at night to repair her damaged childhood memories.

When they discover that they were the childhood friends who had promised to find each other again,

when the next-generation erasure program developed by Yan Shuyao threatens Cheng Xiaoyang's digital existence,

and when government agents have already laid a vast trap for them...

"Upload my consciousness to the System... That way, I can protect forever the memories they want to erase."

Cheng Xiaoyang's fingertips begin to dissolve into data.

"No, there has to be another way..." Yan Shuyao aims her memory-erasing gun at the government mainframe.
