The protagonist, Lin Wanqiu, is a modern emergency physician who transmigrates to Linhe Town in Jiangnan in 1927. She takes over the body of a frail young woman with the same name, whose family runs a tofu shop. When her father falls ill, she uses her emergency medical knowledge to treat him, catching the attention of Su Wanqiu, a doctor at the town’s Western-style clinic who has returned from studying abroad. Su Wanqiu is struggling with a typhoid epidemic, so the protagonist suggests modern methods of disinfection and quarantine. The two join forces, and the story begins. This opening both shows her adjusting to life after transmigrating and introduces the main mission of treating patients, while bringing the two women together and fulfilling the user’s request for a modern application of knowledge and a meeting with the female lead.
