In the autumn of 2087, a virus called the "K7 Rabies Variant" sweeps across the globe. The infected become bloodthirsty monsters, and civilization collapses overnight.
Wen Ya, an ordinary office worker, barely escapes a bloody slaughter in her office on the night the zombie outbreak begins. Armed with a fire axe, she makes her way through the fallen city in search of her older sister, Wen Wan, who works at a biological research institute. Along the way, she encounters a military squad led by special forces captain Lei Yi. This taciturn, steely man possesses lightning abilities altered by the virus, which form a strange complement to Wen Ya's newly awakened ice and spatial powers.
When they discover that the virus is actually a bioweapon carefully engineered by an enemy nation, they must contend with suspicion among survivors, competition for resources, and the threat of mutated zombies.
