The Fragrance of Medicine, the Soul of the Sword

While Zhao Min, the cold-hearted young master of Medicine King Valley, was examining a corpse for poison, he caught Ye Fei'er, a hidden guard of the Prince of Zhenbei's household, as she fell from the sky. The strange cold poison frosting her wounds led to an unsolved case from twenty years ago, when one of a pair of twins was secretly switched at birth. The old burn injury lodged in his heart concealed the secrets of an ancient medical lineage. When a golden needle pierced the seal on her Heavenly Mystery Martial Vein, her rampaging sword qi unexpectedly resonated with his Nine Needles of Qihuang. The truth, drenched in blood and steeped in the scent of medicine, began to spread. In fragments of memory, she saw the hand of a young man holding a needle pierce her chest; amid her own ferocious swordlight, he glimpsed their fingers clasped together as children in a sea of flames. On the chessboard of a chaotic age, a healer's compassion collided with the blade of a demon. Their forbidden love would become the key to breaking the deadlock: "If healing you means trading my life for yours, I willingly become the final ingredient in your medicine." The court is treacherous, the martial world perilous. Only love and trust can sever the cycle of fate. On the day the gilt food box is opened, the crimson mandala will finally bloom upon the pulse they share in life and death.
