The Beautiful Her: An Unanswerable Question of Youth

[Two female leads + school life + healing + sweet and angsty romance + rekindled love + happy ending]

Xu Nanzhi, a math genius in gold-rimmed glasses, is a ghost in the corner of the library, hiding even her breathing in the coolness of mint candy. Then one day, Gu Xingyao, with her fluffy curls and star hair clip, bursts into her world and breaks the silence with, “Your solution steps are harder to understand than my sheet music.”

Dragged into the anime club and dressed in a maid outfit, Xu Nanzhi is flustered and at a loss amid the crowd. Suddenly, Gu Xingyao takes her trembling hand. The moment their palms touch makes her heart race more than solving any math problem. As the perfect campus idol peels away her defenses layer by layer, the socially anxious girl finally discovers that at the edge of her lonely planet lies another person’s warm embrace.

The socially anxious top student × the outgoing social butterfly

Xu Nanzhi: A math genius in gold-rimmed glasses who spends every lunch break hiding in a library corner, working on competition problems. Even her homeroom teacher has only ever seen her respond by nodding or shaking her head. Her schoolbag is always stocked with mint candy to calm her nerves. Then Gu Xingyao drags her into the anime club and forces her to cosplay a game character in a maid outfit. That’s when she discovers that the warmth of someone holding her hand can make her more flustered than solving a problem.

Gu Xingyao: The student council’s arts and culture minister, with fluffy curls and a star hair clip. Wherever she goes, laughter follows. She’s the perfect campus idol on the surface, but in private she practices guitar on the rooftop, playing to the moon. She opens with, “Your solution steps are harder to understand than my sheet music,” then barges into Xu Nanzhi’s world and pulls her from her lonely planet into a lively, warm human world.
