The heroine, Lin Xiaoman, is the classic extroverted introvert: friendly and quick to crack dry jokes around people, but prone to doubting herself over the smallest things when alone.
The hero comes across as a sharp-tongued, icy man, but he's actually a warmhearted guy who notices every little detail. He always treats customers politely and quietly remembers the preferences of regulars.
Lin Xiaoman, a copywriter and planner at an advertising agency, is unexpectedly fired. Broke and trying to save money, she ends up working at Lu Chen's convenience store by chance, and living with him. She discovers that Lu Chen, who seems like a cold, aloof store owner, is actually a hidden craft enthusiast. He also keeps a proud little cloth cat named Meiqiu, whose tail curls into a question mark.
