Ninefold Nether Corpse Ginseng

In 1998, amid mass layoffs in Northeast China, Chen Shan, an unemployed lumberjack, is forced to enter a forbidden zone in the Changbai Mountains to save his daughter, Chen Xiaoman, who has contracted the "Snow Corpse Plague." The Japanese Unit 731 once carried out its "Wild Immortal Weaponization" project here, transforming Zhou Hongyu, an heir to the shamanic tradition, into the mother of corpse ginseng and cultivating a mutated ginseng plant that connects yin and yang. When the restructuring of state-owned enterprises triggers the Snow Corpse Plague, unemployed worker Chen Shan must venture deep into an icebound fortress to save his daughter, who is turning into a beast, and uncover a brutal truth spanning more than fifty years: the "Yinshan Manual," guarded by frozen corpses of the resistance army, conceals a forbidden art that can reverse life and death, while three hundred clones are awakening in a laboratory opened with forceps from the puppet state of Manchukuo. Caught between the resentment of wild immortals and the ghosts of the dead from history, Chen Shan must wield shamanic bone needles and a soul-summoning banner through a blizzard-ravaged logging camp, a ghost market where memories are in disarray, and an ice-burial valley hiding poison gas shells
