There was a severe drought in Sichuan at the end of the Ming Dynasty. There was no rain in Shu for eight months, and all industries were in ruins. Centenary-year-old Granny Ma claims that a pure girl must climb Laoya Mountain on a full-moon night to sing and embroider to lure back the Phoenix, in order to relieve the drought. Sixteen-year-old Liu Qing'er decided to enlist in order to save her seriously ill father and fellow villagers. Wearing her mother's clothes, she climbed up the barren mountain under the gaze of the townspeople and embroidered a colorful phoenix under the moonlight. When her song sounded, a miracle came - the real phoenix arrived with a rainbow, its tears turned into springs, and its tail feathers turned into mountains. Heavy rains followed, ending a century-old drought. Qing'er lifelong guarded the holy spring that became "Fengtou Mountain", and its embroidery and phoenix feathers became treasures of the town. This legend of courage and faith has been passed down from generation to generation.
