While investigating the black market for superpowered individuals, Zhang Chulan accidentally triggered a rampage in the Nascent Soul within him and was rescued by Liu Xiaojiu, a mysterious young woman from the Black Miao. Her identity was a mystery, yet she seemed unusually familiar with Zhang Chulan's Nascent Soul.
As they ventured deeper into Miao territory, they discovered that Liu Xiaojiu was actually a "human Gu vessel" left behind by Wu Gensheng, and the secret sealed within her was the key that Qu Tong, president of the Yaoxing Society, was desperately seeking.
Ma Xianhong offered help in secret, but could not escape the fate of becoming a puppet. Wang Ye divined the will of Heaven and discovered that his bond with her had been fated all along.
As the truth behind the Eight Extraordinary Skills became entangled with Liu Xiaojiu's destiny, Zhang Chulan had to face the cruelest question of all:
Who exactly is the Nascent Soul inside him?
