Main characters: Cheng Shi'an, Xie Cimou
[Youthful Campus Life | Two Top Students | A Touch of Ensemble Cast | Lighthearted | Driven and Ambitious]
Everyone at school knows how much he favors her.
Ever since she was little, Cheng Shi'an had one grand dream: to become a carefree, idle fish. Driven by this noble ambition, she became a notorious "troublemaker" in Jing Shui Lane.
Yet this "troublemaker" had been famous for her sharp mind since primary school. While Er Pang next door was still counting on his fingers to work out 2 + 3, she was already making every cent of her pocket money count at the supermarket.
So when Cheng Shi'an got into the best high school in Hua Ping City with a rank near the bottom, no one in Jing Shui Lane treated it as big news. In fact, they were rather proud of her.
Only Cheng Shi'an, who had always been laid-back, panicked. She just wanted to coast through high school. She didn't want to enter the world of academic overachievers.
Xie Cimou, who had topped the rankings for years, had been hearing his younger brother complain about an eccentric girl in his class ever since before school started. Every few days, she was called to the teachers' office for not taking her memorization seriously. Then one day, while Xie Cimou was on his way to a meeting, he ran into a girl bursting out of the office in tears.
Out of basic human decency, he went after her. As it turned out, later, when the pressure at home became too much and he was ready to run away, someone finally came after him.
