Main Characters
Male lead (becomes the female lead after gender transformation): Lan Fei
- Original character: The Lan family's good-for-nothing young master, a Golden Core Realm loafer who excels at secretly stashing spirit wine and teasing junior sisters at the sect. His catchphrase is, “The world is vast, but freedom is everything.”
- How the transformation begins: When his father kicks him out, he accidentally swallows a “Yin-Yang Reversal Pill” bought on the black market. In truth, it's a transformation pill secretly crafted by a demon king. Over the next three months, his body gradually becomes female: first his voice softens and his skin grows smoother, then he develops breasts and waist-length silver hair. His combat strength also unexpectedly skyrockets, thanks to the ancient Phoenix bloodline in the pill.
- Personality shift: On the surface, he's panicking like crazy (“Why have I grown boobs?!”), but in practice, he lies flat and takes things as they come (“So what if I wear women's clothes? I can still soak in spirit springs and eat spirit fruit”). Later, he awakens his “beautiful, strong, and tragic” side, dodging pursuit by the sect while causing trouble in the demon realm by passing himself off as a woman.
Male lead (pretend villain, true cultivation partner): Xuan Ye
- Public identity: Young Sect Master of the Blood Fiend Sect in the demon realm. He appears cold and ruthless, but his father has conned him into a marriage meant to bring good fortune. He carries a “Netherworld Marriage Contract,” an evil cultivation artifact that forcibly binds cultivation partners.
- Hidden backstory: As a child, he was saved by Lan Fei's father. He carries the Lan family's ancestral “Phoenix Jade” and shares a destined bond with Lan Fei. Attracted by Lan Fei's bloodline after his transformation, he mistakes him for his fated demon queen and pursues him relentlessly, insisting they get married.
- When he falls hard: At first, he finds Lan Fei irritating (“A man turns into a woman and he's still this noisy?”). But during their adventures, he's amazed by how Lan Fei bluffs and cheats in men's clothes, then slaughters demons in women's clothes. He becomes a fiercely protective husband.
Why is there no one? This novel is really interesting.
