Shen Yan thought they would grow to love each other with time, and that his youthful feelings would finally see the light of day. He never imagined that in Huo Xingzhou's eyes, he was nothing but a stand-in for Ji Chuhe.

At a gathering of old acquaintances, Huo Xingzhou spotted Shen Yan lounging on a sofa, a cigarette between the fingers of his right hand. He tugged at the person beside him and asked, “Who is that?”

Shen Yan turned to glance at Huo Xingzhou and raised his glass, clinking it with his from across the room.
