(Reborn + revenge on scumbags + satisfying read + redemption + one-on-one romance + dark, unhinged demon-realm queen + sunny, proud prince of the heavens)

Her gentle, refined fiance hides a dagger behind his smile!

Her dignified, magnanimous stepsister is nothing like she appears!

In her previous life, Su Xiye had her throne as Demon Lord stolen by the two of them working together.

Her stepsister turned her into a human husk and locked her in a secret chamber to test medicines on her, torturing her for a full thousand years.

Reborn, she is no longer the gentle, kindhearted person she once was. She's a demon from hell, returning with a thousand years of hatred beneath her feet. Are all those who bullied and humiliated her ready to face their punishment?

Heh, after being tortured for a thousand years, what's wrong with being a little dark and unhinged?

My dear sister, I'm very good at skinning people. Why are you so afraid?

Brother Ruo Jing, don't move. I have to draw out your soul a little at a time. What if my hand slips and damages it?

Prince Zhaoheng of the Heavenly Realm goes undercover in the demon realm to find medicine for his poison. By a twist of fate, she chooses him to be her secondary consort.

"That demon queen is violent and shameless. There's no way I'd fall in love with her over time."

But when she disguises herself as a gentle young palace maid who studies medicine and cures his deadly poison, he falls for the "gentle, kindhearted" her, and they spend a passionate night together.

Yet she personally plots the "young palace maid's" death at the hands of a villain, driving him to become a demon for love and go on a killing spree.

Seated securely on the throne as Demon Lord, Su Xiye sneers. "Prince Zhaoheng, I have you to thank for clearing away my last obstacle."

Later, he finally learns the truth, but still wants to be the beacon of light in her heart.

"Xiye, since you're surrounded by darkness, let me light up your heart."

Looking at his bright, sunny face, she feels an ache in her heart and wants to cry for the first time. Redemption? It's too late. She stopped needing it long ago.
