[Sweet-and-Salty Manga Artist] & [Scheming Fox of a Man]
Wen Jinmo was a manga artist. One day, on her way home, she found a red fox. The two of them looked at each other. The fox seemed listless, and when she looked down, she saw blood all over the ground beneath it. She gazed at the fox staring back at her and gently asked,
“Would you like me to help you? If you do, nod your head.”
At her words, the fox's ears twitched adorably. Pei Jinci had been ambushed by a villain after returning from the demon realm and was badly injured. He ran here before fainting, which was how Wen Jinmo found him. Looking at the human before him, he realized that he was injured and couldn't leave anyway, so he simply nodded.
Seeing the fox agree, Wen Jinmo took off her coat, cradled it in her arms, and carried it home. Once there, she got out the medicine kit, disinfected its wounds, and bandaged them. Seeing that it still seemed listless, she brought it some food.
One day, when Wen Jinmo came home, Pei Jinci was gone.
A few months later, a handsome man moved in next door. Wen Jinmo felt as if she had seen him somewhere before.
Later, he became her husband.
A few years later, Wen Jinmo gave birth to an adorable little red fox. Pei Jinci tenderly gazed down at her sweat-covered face and gently wiped it. He lowered his head to kiss her pale lips, then wept onto her face as he professed his love.
“Darling, you've worked so hard. I love you.”
“I love you too, darling.”
