Whispers from the Nether Ruins: Watcher of the Primordial World
What would happen if the primordial world of the Classic of Mountains and Seas collided with the unknown horrors of Cthulhu?
Ye was an ordinary apprentice shaman of the Wudi people. He gathered herbs, performed blessings, and lived a peaceful life. But the Blackwater inexplicably turned murky, livestock began undergoing strange mutations one after another, and his people descended into madness. Some even spontaneously combusted before his eyes, leaving behind grotesque, corrupted remains. At the critical moment, the ancient jade heirloom grew hot as a warning, becoming his only defense against the maddening whispers.
As the clan chief lay dying, he entrusted Ye with a forbidden scroll of hide. Its thunder-script bore warnings of the “Nether Ruins Beyond the World” and the “Mind-Bewitching Demon.” Forced to leave his home, Ye embarked on a perilous journey. Along the way, an invisible force twisted the mountains and rivers, and he encountered bizarre, murderous beasts and remnants of lost peoples. To resist the encroaching chaos, he studied the scroll and learned to wield ancient runes, mysterious herbs, and calming prayers.
From the frontier to the ruins, from mighty cities to Kunlun, Ye gradually realized that this disaster was a long-planned invasion. The ancient seals were weakening, and the Old Gods were about to become the gateway to despair. Madness was spreading. He was the first to sense it, and the last watcher standing.
In this dark primordial world, where reason and madness intertwine, can Ye find hope, unite others, and protect the last spark of life in the world?
