The Last Esper

Overnight, crimson rain drenched the concrete jungle. The virus devoured humanity at an unimaginable speed. The infected became bloodthirsty supernatural beings, their twisted limbs and guttural snarls turning the city into a living hell.

Xiao Yusong, a high school entrance exam failure, accidentally slept for several days after suffering a drug's side effects at a party. When he woke, all of City A had fallen. While fleeing, he accidentally injected himself with a drug that changed him dramatically. Along the way, he rescued Xiao Lan, a young policewoman, and met Xiaosheng, a spirit with whom he accidentally made a pact. The three formed a makeshift team and searched for a safe haven on streets overrun by supernatural beings.

Yet more terrifying than the supernatural beings were the countless factions, large and small, fighting openly and in secret to obtain the legendary elixir of immortality.

Xiao Yusong and his companions must survive the tide of bloodthirsty supernatural beings while fighting against villainous factions. In this battle for survival, can they uncover the truth behind the virus outbreak? When the apocalypse comes, what will be humanity's last line of defense: an impregnable fortress, or hands clasped together?
