Jiangzhu has returned with a clear goal: find the enemy who cast her down into the mortal world and make him pay. But she cannot do it alone, so she goes to Flower-Fruit Mountain to find Sun Wukong. She is not asking him to protect her, but offering him a deal: “Help me deal with someone, and once it’s done, I’ll remove your golden headband.”
The two join forces, fighting their way from the mortal realm to the Celestial Court. Her power is no longer tears, but the true spirit of plants and trees: she can command every blade of grass, identify poison, and use plants as her eyes and ears. He handles the fighting; she handles the planning. The Celestial Court thinks she is still that sickly girl who does nothing but cry. By the time they realize their mistake, a blade is already at their throats.
In the end, they discover that the enemy who harmed her back then is the same person who had him imprisoned beneath Five Elements Mountain.
