Reunited Abroad: The Aloof Heartthrob Turns Into a Puppy

[Classically beautiful female writer x handsome, roguish guesthouse owner]

[Reunion after a long separation | Mutual pining | Island romance | Flirtatious push and pull]

Nan Jiangzhou saw Jing Bai again on a South Seas island. The moment she laid eyes on him, she started avoiding him all over again.

-

Jing Bai, owner of the White Bird Guesthouse, has a pair of alluring eyes that haunt her dreams. He appeared in every stage of her youth, as if he were her shadow, until that summer when they were separated.

Eight years later, reunited in a foreign country, he asked, “Why are you pretending not to know me, Nan Jiangzhou?”

The sea breeze blows, and flirtation blooms all around them.

Perhaps the hidden currents of their youthful feelings made her fall into the sweet trap he had laid for her.

He said, “I’m asking you to give me a place in your life.”

“Will you date me, Nan Jiangzhou?”

People with avoidant attachment need a lover who won’t let them push him away.

And that’s exactly what he is.

-

They go snorkeling, chase whales, and cliff-dive together.

He tells her that a cage can’t keep a bird that wants to fly.

When she leaves the island, he follows her back to Nancheng. “You little villain, why didn’t you ever come looking for me?”

Nan Jiangzhou: “Didn’t we break up?”

The man: “I forgot.”

-

Later, he says, “Let’s live as nomads.”

Together, they’ll have no fixed home and roam the world.

Two people in search of freedom will meet, understand, and fall in love in a place with no boundaries.
