There are plenty of books on raising highly sensitive, high-needs children, but most focus on methods or scattered case studies. I once searched desperately, hoping to find something I could relate to, but never came across a book in diary form that carefully chronicled the small moments in a child’s growth.
My child is a typical highly sensitive, high-needs child. His first days at kindergarten were full of ups and downs and challenges, as well as countless moving moments. I recorded all those anxious and heartwarming days, along with the doubts and realizations I experienced while raising him. I want to share these genuine, mundane, yet precious records with everyone, and hope to meet other parents navigating the same journey of raising a high-needs child. Perhaps these words will let them know that they are not alone on this far-from-easy path.
