The Little Lucky Star of the Sixties

Modern office worker Lin Xiaoman accidentally transmigrates to the late spring of 1960. The original owner of her body was a child bride in the remote mountain village of Linjia'ao, beaten to death for stealing sweet potatoes from the production team's grain storehouse. She arrives during a year of famine, when harvests have failed across much of the country. The villagers of Linjia'ao are starving, and even wild greens and tree bark have all been dug up. The Great Leap Forward has just ended, and the commune canteens are still operating, but food rations are becoming increasingly scarce. Collective labor, work points, and the ration-ticket system have become central to daily life, while supplies in both urban and rural areas are in desperately short supply. The Four Cleanups Movement is about to begin.
