The Heaven-Ordained Knife Lender: Helping Yama Find Things in the Mortal World

[No romance + strong female lead + occult mysteries + humans, ghosts, and gods + spiritual qi revival]

Su Jiuli comes from the underworld to the human world, keyboard in hand.

Her main goal is to rescue her mother’s soul, trapped behind a bronze door.

But the key to opening it is missing.

She also has some extra tasks: help the King of Hell find the fragments of his seal, track down Cui Yu, the missing Judge Cui, and Meng Po, and collect the debts the knife lenders are owed in the human world.

In the human world, she makes many friends and witnesses the many sides of human nature.

Her adventures take her from the Lin family’s ancestral home to Zhang Man, the spirit bound to a mirror, then on to the ghost market, a holiday resort, an occult conference, and more.

Later, the occult world is thrown into upheaval. The current leader of the Occult Alliance sacrifices its members in order to open the seal on the Four Great Calamities behind the bronze door: Taotie.

In the battle at Mount Kunlun, one after another of her companions die.

In the end, Taotie is still released.

From then on, the world changes dramatically, and spiritual qi revival begins.

Armed with her keyboard, the Book of Life and Death, and the Judge’s Brush, Su Jiuli begins her coaching career among the living.

She also searches for the souls of those who have passed away.
