In this novel, the characters are distinct. I was fascinated by the protagonist's personality and the way he behaves, and the supporting characters are also very distinctive.
A lot of effort has been put into the design of the storyline. The plot is not that cliche (there are still some funny elements), and the design is quite consistent with the realistic plot. There are no abrupt or brainless plot twists throughout the narrative.
