[Siheyuan] + [Period] + [Entrepreneurship] + [Slice of Life] + [Putting the Villains in Their Place] + [Decisive and Ruthless]

Ye Chen, a young man from the modern era, transmigrates unexpectedly to a time of scarcity. There he meets He Xiulian, who is just as down on her luck. Kindhearted, he immediately steps in to help and takes her in.

He thinks moving in with his uncle will let him start a new life, only to hear the devastating news that his uncle has passed away. Fortunately, his uncle had arranged a house and household registration for him before he died.

As soon as Ye Chen moves into the Siheyuan, he gets a taste of how complicated the neighbors can be.

Third Uncle Yan Bugui seems welcoming, but he is actually very concerned about who will inherit his uncle’s house.

The Qin Huairu family is in an uproar over the house, too. Her mother-in-law, Jia Zhangshi, is unreasonable and insists the house should belong to her family, sparking a fierce confrontation with Qin Huairu.

Faced with one challenge after another, Ye Chen struggles to find his footing in this unfamiliar era.

In the Siheyuan, he matches wits with all sorts of people.

See how Ye Chen turns his life around, step by step, in a courtyard full of everyday warmth and hidden undercurrents, and writes an extraordinary story of his own.
