The Canteen Squad’s Wonderful Fat Hong Transformation

In the modern world, 42-year-old chef Liu Xin hits rock bottom when his restaurant goes under and his marriage falls apart. One day, he gets drunk and passes out. When he opens his eyes again, he has transmigrated into the world of The Story of the Mess Hall, where he has become Fat Hong, the mess hall squad leader, just as two new recruits, Xiao Jiang and Xiao Mao, arrive. There’s no mortgage pressure or petty scheming here, just the everyday warmth of life in a military camp. Bringing his modern cooking skills and the wisdom of a middle-aged man, Liu Xin rediscovers his love of life in the mess hall, while the original cast’s story finds fresh humor and warmth.
