Deep in Cangwu Mountain, lies an ancient ruin that has been forgotten by the world. Legend has it that a hundred years ago, a strange disaster occurred here. The entire village and its villagers disappeared overnight, leaving only the ruins sealed by cinnabar. Now, a strange dream leads archeology student Lin Xu to this forbidden place - in the dream, countless withered hands stretch out from the ground, and somewhere in the ruins, there seems to be a pair of eyes staring at the intruder.
As the investigation deepened, Lin Xu discovered that every plant and tree in the ancient ruins hid mysteries: twisted spells on the beams of the ancestral hall, children sobbing from deep in the cellar, and his companions fell into nightmares from which they could not wake up one after another. What is even more chilling is that all the victims muttered "He is coming out" to the air before falling into coma.
When modern technology loses its effect in this evil place, Lin Xu has to join forces with the mysterious ruin keeper Su Yaoning to try to uncover the dust-laden truth of the ancient ruins. Can they find the key to cracking the "Nightmare" before it consumes everyone? And is the so-called "him" a suppressed evil spirit, or an unknown existence from the abyss?
