Mystery in the Night: The Night She Disappeared, I Became...

His fiancée, Zhao Qing, vanishes in the middle of the night. Her phone is off, and the scene is spattered with blood.

Meanwhile, Lu Ze, the “groom-to-be,” becomes the police’s prime suspect overnight.

Detective Zhang He takes the case, expecting a crime of passion or robbery,

but discovers that several young women have mysteriously disappeared in the city over the past six months.

All the disappearances point to the same stretch of the Suzhou River

where an underground organization called “The Hunters” is secretly orchestrating a bloody trade.

When the supposedly dead Han Xiao reappears, the truth gradually comes to light:

kidnapping, extortion, human trafficking, wealthy elites, darknet deals…

With every layer he uncovers, Zhang He feels himself sinking deeper into the darkness.

More terrifying still, the mastermind, “White Eagle,” is colluding with senior figures inside the police force,

and Lu Ze may never have been a “victim” at all. He may have been the hunter on the prowl from the very beginning!

The blood is still wet, and a skirt slips to the floor…

The missing-persons case spirals into a string of murders. Love and betrayal, justice and darkness clash beneath the night sky of the city.

Her disappearance is only the beginning.

And in this city of darkness, Zhang He must wager everything to save the last girl.
