Lin Daiyu Fights Her Way from Dream of the Red Chamber into Journey to the West

“The Divine Attendant Shen Ying was never him!”

On the day Lin Daiyu’s soul returned to the Heaven of Parting Hatred, the face reflected by the Three Lives Stone was none other than the Great Sage Equal to Heaven.

As it turned out, hundreds of years ago, the celestial herb that grew from a crack in a stubborn stone had already been secretly nourished by someone with the morning dew of Flower-Fruit Mountain. The immortals of the Heavenly Court had forcibly altered her memories and destiny.

Reborn through a begonia from Flaming Mountain, she took the half-burned poems from her past life and plunged into the deadly game of Journey to the West.

From then on, along the pilgrimage route

Amid the poisonous sand kicked up by the Yellow Wind Monster, she bit her fingertip and smeared blood on the Golden Cudgel. “Southeast, the Xun position. Break!”

As the True and False Monkey King fought, she asked, “Are you angry at the Six-Eared Macaque, or at yourself for being used as a pawn?” Sun Wukong’s golden eyes trembled.

Before Thunderclap Monastery, when the Buddha unleashed heavenly punishment, she wrapped her celestial-herb form around his iron cudgel. “If you’re going to tear down this sacred mountain, I’ll do it with you.”

And that unruly Great Sage Equal to Heaven

When her immortal power ran dry, he carved a water-avoidance spell onto the East Sea’s spirit spring he had stolen for her;

When the Tightening Headband drove him mad with pain, he swallowed his screams because she told him, “If it hurts, let it out”;

And in the end, clutching a ring formed from her Xiaoxiang tears, he sneered at the Three Realms: “They say old Sun was born with a heart of stone. Then I’ll prove that love can make a sage!”

As the Mending Heaven Stone and the Crimson Pearl Immortal Grass entwined in the flames that would destroy the world,

what overturned the Three Realms was never the Golden Cudgel,

but the words that grew from a crack in the stone

“Dear sister, this time, let old Sun bear all eighty-one storms of tears for you.”
