Core theme: An ordinary mortal defies fate to seek the Dao, breaking free of shackles, severing karmic ties, and rebuilding the order of the cultivation world.
World setting: The story unfolds on the Eastern Wasteland Continent, blending the mystery of the ancient dragon race’s fall, the thousand-year conflict between humans and demons, and the truth about the Immortal Realm sealed away by the Heavenly Dao. Cultivators must cultivate “spiritual roots” to absorb spiritual energy, and sever their “roots of karma” to survive tribulations. Lin Yuan, an ordinary mortal, creates the Red Dust Dao and challenges the cultivation world’s traditional law of the strong devouring the weak.1[7]
