Dreams Beneath the Brocade Years

Core Setting

- World: The fictional Great Sheng Dynasty, whose economy is built on medicine and silk. Powerful clans and the imperial family vie for influence, social status is strictly divided between legitimate and illegitimate heirs, and women may trade or study medicine but can scarcely take part in politics.

- Heroine: Lin Wantang, the legitimate daughter of a marquis's household. In her previous life, her stepmother and best friend framed her, leading to her death. As she lay dying, her soul merged with that of Lin Xiaoman, a modern 28-year-old emergency-room doctor. Reborn on the day of her coming-of-age ceremony, she sets out to turn her fate around with memories of both lives.

- Hero: Gu Chengyu, heir to the General of Dingbei's residence. In his previous life, he mistakenly believed the slander of his secondary consort, Su Yueli, indirectly causing Lin Wantang's death. In this life, he is drawn to the heroine's modern way of thinking and medical skills, and gradually uncovers the truth as they grow closer.

- Golden finger: Modern medical knowledge, including first aid and improved herbal remedies; business acumen, which she uses to open the Huichuntang Clinic; and foreknowledge of the schemes from her previous life.
