The Records of Ming Zhen

Shu Mulu Mingzhen, a noblewoman of the Plain White Banner, enters Prince Bao’s household as a concubine because her family is in decline. Elegant in bearing and quick-witted, she knows how to conceal her talents and carefully navigate the turbulent inner residence.

When Prince Bao ascends the throne, Mingzhen is first given the title of Noblewoman Wen. With her keen intelligence, she gradually wins the emperor’s favor. From Concubine Wen to Consort Wen and finally Noble Consort Wen, she advances cautiously, navigating both the imperial harem and the political intrigues of the court.

Yet an emperor’s favor is as fleeting as a flower reflected in water, and the road through the inner palace is fraught with danger. Her family’s fortunes, a close friend’s betrayal, the princes’ struggle for power... Within the nine layers of palace walls, can she remain true to herself and ultimately secure an unassailable position?

“The winds of the Forbidden City cannot scatter the mists of power, and in this deep palace, she will write her own legend.”
