After repeatedly running into dead ends in life, Shen Lin happens upon a jade disc, unaware that it is tied to the karma of his past life. By accident, Shen Lin finds himself in the world of Da'an, reborn as the son of the judicial commissioner of Yuzhou. In the midst of a carefully laid plan, he meets Li Yizhou, the daughter of a powerful family.
From the provinces to the capital, from restoring order at home to resisting threats from abroad, Shen Lin works to mend the broken Da'an. As he breathes new life into the realm, he uncovers a shocking mystery in its history, and powerful forces at court do everything they can to stop his investigation. Undeterred by the many obstacles in his path, Shen Lin takes on the court's powerful in a fierce struggle to uncover the truth of history.
P.S. I'm devoted to one true love: Li Yizhou is the only one for Shen Lin. Other female characters will have a little romantic tension with him to move the plot along, but none of them will succeed, because I'm here.
