The Hostage Prince and His Frail Third Brother

A pure historical romance featuring a cold, proud hostage from an enemy state, an alluring and sickly prince, a dangerously obsessive and sinister second male lead, revenge, and redemption.

To keep his homeland at peace, Xiang Yunchen, prince of the Northern Kingdom, volunteered to go to Yan as a hostage.

His heart already dead, he was prepared to endure life in enemy territory. But then he met the ailing Third Prince, Song Youlin.

At their first meeting, Song Youlin was pale as paper. He coughed up blood and smiled. “How can a prince of the Northern Kingdom look even less alive than I do?”

Xiang Yunchen met his gaze coldly. “If Third Prince wants to die sooner, I don't mind helping.”

But later...

Song Youlin took a cup of poisoned wine meant for him from Prince Song Yan, then spent three days vomiting blood.

Xiang Yunchen searched the world for rare medicines for him, only to hear him say, “Stop trying to save me. I won't live past this winter.”

He should have hated Yan, hated the imperial family, and hated this sickly Third Prince.

But when Song Youlin coughed blood in his arms and smiled as he asked, “Yunchen, did you come here to kill me or to love me?”

Xiang Yunchen finally realized:

He could no longer tell whether he was a hostage sent to take revenge or a fool ready to die for love.
