Making a Fortune in the Hong Kong Film World

The survival rules of Xu Ran, an undercover agent who has lost contact: Undercover work? That’s just a side gig!

On the surface, he keeps the books for drug dealers. In reality, he uses their drug money to build arcades and shopping malls. On the day his company goes public, a gang boss tearfully brings him ransom money. “Shanzai, give me a million to get me out of here!”

Xu Ran pushes up his glasses. “Scared now? You weren’t so gentle when you hacked my brother back then.”

When Jackie Chan strikes his classic sniping pose on the set of A Better Tomorrow, Xu Ran is busy stuffing gold bars into the rifle barrel. “Officer, if you want this gun to hit the bull’s-eye, it’ll cost extra.”
