Rising Through the Ranks: So Duoduo Was Here All Along!

The Xu family in Xiarong Village welcomed boy-girl twins. They were adorable, but the whole family was in for a hard time.

When the little girl was five, she stood with her hands on her hips, brows furrowed as she glared at Xu Sanduo, who was about her height.

“Duoduo, I only came out a little earlier than you! That makes me your big sister!”

Xu Sanduo pressed his lips together and shook his head, mumbling, “...No.”

The little girl immediately pouted, looking aggrieved. She turned to Chengcai, who was sitting nearby, and tugged at him.

“Chengcai, hurry up and settle this for me. Tell me, am I the big sister or not?”

Chengcai squatted beside them. He had long since given up trying to correct the little girl’s way of saying his name. Watching the two of them argue until their faces were red, he tried to reason with her in a quiet voice. “Zhizhi, you’re the younger sister.”

At that, the little girl blew up. Her lower lip trembled, and tears streamed down her face. She spun around and ran home, shouting at the top of her lungs as she went.

“Mom! Chengcai is picking on me! Duoduo won’t even admit I’m his big sister!”

Xu Sanduo stood there, at a loss, while Chengcai panicked and hurried to get up and stop her. But it was already too late.

The two boys were left staring at each other.
