Shen Qingyue is a fourth-year university student in the capital whose parents control every aspect of his life. After falling out with them over their disagreement about his career, he happens to meet a Tibetan girl named A Ruola. He travels to Tibet to teach, and the two gradually fall in love. But fate has other plans: tragedy strikes, leaving him to wander alone across the land of Tibet, with nothing but endless sorrow.
