Strange Case: The Female Police Captain Fell for the Suspect

【Gorgeous, formidable female criminal investigation captain vs. a highly intelligent, detail-obsessed art professor who has lived in a Taoist temple for years】 (Plot-driven, mystery and crime-solving, with romance as a secondary element) A bizarre murder brings to light victim after victim, each long buried in a case file. Xun Zheng, captain of the Haihe Criminal Investigation Team, insists that the cases be connected and a major crimes unit formed. The 711 Major Crimes Unit faces tremendous public pressure from the moment it is established. The grotesque corpse of a woman is cloaked in an aura of horror, and one bizarre detail after another emerges. Roses that never wilt, a heart that vanishes without a trace. A dead person who repents, one thick coffin nail after another… Relentless rain, imperfect victims… What secrets lie behind these deaths? Xun Zheng and everyone in the major crimes unit know this is a silent contest between them and the killer. The darkness of human nature is magnified, and a similar case happens again. But is the killer really the same person? As clue after clue emerges, a suspect repeatedly drawn into the cases becomes their companion. … Du Yanwei, an art professor, is drawn into the cases again and again. An inexplicable prophecy, a divination reading that foretells disaster: it seems everything harbors a deadly malice toward him. Behind every supernatural incident lies a deadly truth. The truth is like a dazzling poppy, drawing Du Yanwei ever deeper until he becomes an ally of justice. (Though heavy rain may conceal every sin, sunlight still tears through the clouds once it passes. Even beneath a crumbling wall, the clear light of day can still be seen.)
