Dreams and Shining Stars

[A depressed, taciturn boy x a lively, cute, cheerful girl]

[Healing] [Campus romance] [Reunion after a long separation] [Secondary couple] [Everyday life]

One day, on her way home after buying snacks, Xia Mengchu runs into a handsome guy who looks strangely familiar.

To her surprise, they’re even in the same class.

While introducing herself, she misses a step and is about to fall face-first onto the floor when she feels something warm and soft instead.

Wen Shuo looks down at her. “How does it feel?”

Xia Mengchu: “N-not bad.”

Later, Wen Shuo brings his friends to visit his grandmother, who tells them his story.

His grandmother says, “When he was little, he was like a happy little colt... But then his mother became critically ill, and his father abandoned him...”

That day, he ran away from home all by himself, not knowing who to turn to.

He got lost, but met a kind auntie and her daughter.

He always said that little girl was like a little angel. It was just a shame that he never saw her again...

In that instant, a hazy yet vivid image suddenly flashed through her mind: a gloomy winter afternoon.

Her mother led home a little boy, filthy all over, his small face pale and blue from the cold. Only his eyes were bright black, filled with fear and stubbornness.

He said,

“And that little girl, who was like a tiny sun. She gave me her candy and placed her most beloved doll in my arms... When she smiled, her eyes curved like crescents, as if she could melt all the cold of winter.”

So... that boy was ten-year-old Wen Shuo.

She was the only star that could light his way through the darkness, a star he longed for even in his dreams.
