A Phoenix Rules the World: Starting by Captivating the Emperor

[Transmigration + clear-headed heroine + clever and capable + no System + no saintly do-gooder]

The palace scheming is simple at first because she has only just entered the palace and is keeping a low profile! Once she becomes a Noble Consort, she stops hiding her brilliance!

“Your Ladyship, the Great General is at the Hall of Mental Cultivation again, weeping over old times!” Shen Zhi Yi pictures her tough-guy father breaking down in tears and shudders. Let the dog Emperor deal with it!

“Your Ladyship, please persuade the Great General! The fighting at the border is fierce. We can’t do without him!”

Shen Zhi Yi strolls leisurely through the imperial garden and shuts them down with one line: “Women of the inner palace must not meddle in state affairs!”

The Emperor fears the Great General’s achievements make him too powerful, so he decrees that his daughter, Shen Zhi Yi, enter the palace as a consort, keeping the general in check.

When the Emperor notices that her features resemble those of his dearly departed love, he begins to favor her. The Empress can’t sit still and immediately sends her a gift, but the gift proves useless!

But fate has other plans. Shen Zhi Yi becomes pregnant, throwing the court and the palace into turmoil. The Emperor lies awake all night with worry and, after much hesitation, decides to take the painful step of eliminating her.

Little does he know that the Shen family has already made plans to protect the child.

The Qixiang Palace remains perfectly peaceful, untouched by the turmoil outside. Shen Zhi Yi strokes her belly. “My child will be born safely, of course. A Noble Consort is not what I’m after!”

She gazes toward Shoukang Palace in the distance. “That is my true goal!”
