Soul Burying Master: Yellow Springs Agency

Ferocious beasts descended upon the human world, and humanity's fate fluttered uncertainly like a flimsy scrap of paper.

Human territory shrank to just twenty percent of its former size. Countless souls lingered among the living, while the dark crimson Domain of Resentment, formed by the Four Great Ferocious Beasts, gaped like a bloodied maw, assimilating territory and devouring souls...

Above the grave-soil were the survivors.

Beneath it were the sorrowful dead.

As Cangyuan fell, a slow song rang out.

"White banners guide the way, yellow paper drifts,

Old friends journey far, where will their souls return?

The Northern Dipper pours the wine, the Southern Dipper lights the incense,

Come, summon the three hun and seven po, let them linger no longer in a foreign land."

A young man carrying a soul lantern appeared slowly in the sight of the gathered souls, treading across a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood. He spoke calmly:

"I am Gu Chen of the Yellow Springs Agency. You may now go on your way in peace."
