This Sword Knows No Life; I Am No More in This World

“Master, I’ve decided to use the forbidden art, trading my life for Lu Liyue’s.”

At Qingyun Sect, Lu Chen knelt before the elders and refused to rise.

“Wretch! You’re the most gifted genius Qingyun Sect has seen in a thousand years. You’re destined to attain the Dao and ascend to heaven! Lu Liyue is nothing but a cripple with damaged meridians. Why sacrifice yourself for her?”

His master, the sect leader, was heartbroken.

Lu Chen’s gaze was calm, his back straight.

“She’s my sister.”

Lu Liyue and Lu Chen were not related by blood. Years ago, when Lu Chen was fleeing for his life, he found her abandoned as a baby and took her in.

The sect leader’s expression grew complicated.

“If you use this ancient forbidden art, your meridians will be shattered and you’ll have only one year left to live. You’ll suffer miserably for that year, then die a tragic death, never to be reborn!”

But Lu Chen merely smiled, untroubled.

“Master, in ten days, Lu Liyue will turn eighteen.”
