By a twist of fate, Wang Xiangyang landed in the material-strapped 1960s, when everyone in the village was going hungry. Luckily, he had a storage space full of supplies. As the village elder to all the grandkids, he couldn't bear to see them starve, so he generously shared his supplies with them.
His eldest grandson on the east side of the village had fainted from hunger, so Wang gave him technology-made steamed buns to eat his fill. His eldest nephew on the west side was reduced to chewing bark, so Wang gave him two bags of mystery-brand frozen dumplings so delicious they brought tears to his eyes. Then he cooked up a pot of special milk-infused soup, letting the whole village celebrate the New Year in style.
Dahu: Grandpa Gousheng, why aren't you eating?
Wang Xiangyang: Grandpa doesn't like it. As long as you eat your fill, I'm happy.
Then he went up the mountain, caught a wild boar raised in a pristine, unpolluted environment, and cooked himself a feast fit for an emperor.
Everyone: *sob* Grandpa is so good to us. We'll take care of him in his old age.
