Back to 1960: I Started Eating Meat by Hunting Civets

“Hunting + No System + Wish Fulfillment + Pure, Unthinking Fun.”

Zhao Dabao, champion of the national archery competition in the twenty-first century, is reborn in 1960 as an ordinary villager in the Bashu mountains, the very man he himself beat to death.

The moment he opens his eyes, he finds himself with a kind, beautiful wife who could put a nation to shame.

He looks at his beautiful, kind wife at home.

But they have no land or fields, too little clothing and food, and a leaky house.

Zhao Dabao doesn’t panic in the slightest.

He looks at the wild mountain behind the village, slings the hunting bow he bought on credit over his shoulder, and roams the woods. He can hunt or gather whatever he likes: masked palm civets, bamboo partridges, wild boars, wild grapes, wild bananas, and wild pumpkins.

Walking along the stream, he can fill a bamboo basket with wild ducks, crabs, big carp, and river shrimp.

With so many resources around, why worry about having no land or fields and a leaky house?

With a hunting bow on his back, a machete at his waist, and a few younger followers in tow, Zhao Dabao begins his life of hunting and foraging in the mountains.
