The Substitute’s Deadly Trial: The Regent’s Fatal Kiss

[Substitute trope + transmigrated female assassin × scheming regent + devoted to each other + light comedy + a little angst later on + multiple side couples] The transmigrated female assassin carries out an assassination mission and ends up as the regent’s maid. He keeps her because her face resembles the woman he has always loved, and at first he thinks she is nothing but a shadow of that beloved woman. But after he catches her trying to escape and brings her back to the manor, he pins her to the bed, eyes red: “Who needs a substitute? You are my life.”
