Mu Yao: My wife was sent to me by a myna I picked up!
Su Yuan: My husband was sent to me after I ran into a myna!
-
A myna worth fifteen taels made Su Yuan the Mu family’s bride in repayment of a debt in Banjiang Village.
Luckily, the mountains aren’t home only to rough-hewn men; there are also handsome young men with fair skin!
Luckily, she doesn’t have to spend her life as a farm wife, bent over the fields. She can open a school and become a teacher!
Luckily, life in this mountain valley is full of simple pleasures!
Gathering wild greens in spring, catching river delicacies in summer, harvesting mountain produce in autumn, and hunting game in winter;
the sound of students reciting their lessons mingles with the gentle mountain breeze;
living peacefully in the countryside, her biggest worry might be that her student, and husband, is too clingy.

[Reading Guide]
Everyone is a native of this world, with no golden finger;
ordinary folk, with no surprise revelations about anyone’s background;
focused on farming, with no imperial examinations or careers in government;
a leisurely pace, a light ensemble story about everyday family life and the steady flow of time;
a fictional setting, with prices mainly based on the Song dynasty. Every detail serves the story.
At first, I actually felt that this setting was a bit unfair to the heroine, because she acted very mature and steady from the beginning. Such people can live well anywhere, but they sell themselves for the sake of their loved ones. But later on, the Mu family members all respected and cared for her. Everyone worked hard to live a good life and wanted both themselves and their descendants to get out of the village. Now I feel that they achieve each other, just like they are fulfilling their wishes. Maybe this is a destined fate. She allows them to learn knowledge and see a better future; they allow her to use her talents and get the fame and freedom she deserves (if she had been following her relatives, she would probably have been able to be an ordinary housewife, suppressed by her mother-in-law and husband)
It looks good. It's my favorite type. There's no time travel or rebirth. Everyone is working hard to live. There are no nonsense bad guys. It would be better if the update is faster.
So pretty!!! I finished the review in one go. Thank you to my wife for writing such a beautiful book.
Good-looking, ordinary farming life, plain but also warm.
The water flows slowly, and it feels very warm, not exaggerated at all.
