[Rules-based horror + paranormal talents + power fantasy + multiple protagonists + raising kids]
Rules-based horror has descended. Its power randomly selects one chosen person from each country to take part in a rules-based horror scenario. If a chosen person fails to clear it, a random part of their country will be invaded by the horror. If they succeed, they will receive a reward, and their country will gain a boost to its national fortune.
Since the rules-based horror first appeared, countries have suffered one defeat after another, bringing humanity to the brink of extinction. They have no choice but to unite and fight back. They have even created an international law specifically for chosen participants, doing everything they can to keep highly talented participants alive.
Our protagonist, Zhang Zhengpeng, was just a high school student who liked reading web novels, hated studying, and studied at home. Little did he know that when rules-based horror descended, he would become Longguo’s chosen participant and enter the first five-star scenario since its arrival: The Wild Village.
Rule One: You are a member of the Zhang family, and your family treats you well. If a family member asks you to do something, please agree.
Rule Two: It is autumn. Every day, go up the mountain and help your family with their work.
Zhang Zhengpeng scoffs at these rules and breaks them at will, because the talent he drew is the SSS-rank [Know Thyself]. It lets him choose and use any talent ever recorded in the rules-based horror world, and the talent he chooses is the SSS-rank [Born Defiant]!
What he never expected, however, was that the other two protagonists would be Yegor from the Bear Kingdom, who is actually a paranormal, and Phoenix from the United States, a crazy little girl!
Zhang Zhengpeng: “Sigh, what can I do?”
