In the "forbidden zone of life" on the Ali Plateau in Tibet at an altitude of 4,500 meters, there is a place known as "the place where the sun last sets" - Shibuqi. The average annual temperature here is below minus 10 degrees Celsius. The eight-month mountain closure period has isolated it into an "island in the sea of snow". This book uses a documentary style to give a panoramic view of the daily border guarding of this unit known as the "Guardian of the Snowy Island". They trudged on dangerous patrol roads, climbed over the Bingda Ban with an altitude of more than 5,000 meters, crossed the "tiger's mouth"-like cliff plank road, and measured the country with their feet under the threat of avalanches and mudslides; they persisted during the mountain closure period when supplies were scarce, Relying on the greenhouse to fight against the wind and snow, they inherited the spiritual fire of more than 20 comrades who sacrificed their lives; they were as close as one family with the Tibetan compatriots stationed there, using "barter exchange" to write about the relationship between the army and the people, and the flower of national unity bloomed in the Guozhuang dance of the Tibetan New Year.
