Back to the Moment the Emperor Was Assassinated, I Took the Sword for Him

When the emperor was attacked, my husband, commander of the Imperial Guards, was busy comforting his beloved, who had stormed off in a fit of pique.

I didn't set off the signal flare in my hand. Instead, heavily pregnant, I stood in front of the emperor and used my body as a shield to help him escape.

In my previous life, after I set off the flare, my husband had abandoned his beloved and rushed to the emperor's rescue.

For his bravery, he was made a Marquis Who Protects the Nation, but his beloved fell into a trap and died on the spot.

My husband said nothing, but on the day I gave birth, he threw me into the Beast Pit.

In agony, I demanded to know why.

He merely glanced at me coldly.

“There were plenty of guards around the emperor. Why did I have to be the one to come back? You must have had your eyes on power and wealth! You deliberately made me come to his rescue!”

“If you hadn't set off the signal flare, how could Yuyan have died? I'll make you pay back every bit of suffering Yuyan endured, and then some!”

In the end, I was devoured by the beasts, and even the child in my womb was eaten.

When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day the emperor was attacked.
