May Every Year Bring Peace and Joy

Ning Jinsui is the apple of the eldest princess’s eye and the Xiyuan Princess personally titled by Emperor Yuanwu. Clever and perceptive from a young age, she enjoys an easy, worry-free childhood.

But after her coming-of-age ceremony, she begins having the same dream every day. In it, she is told again and again that she is merely a supporting female character inserted to balance the cast in a storybook. Before long, she will meet a woman who saves her at the risk of her own life in a moment of danger. The woman is Si Qingjue, known as the heroine in the book.

The two become close friends, but unexpectedly, this marks the beginning of Ning Jinsui’s descent into a quagmire.

It turns out that this was all a scheme arranged by Si Qingjue, one part of her plan. Ning Jinsui is nothing but a stepping stone for her so-called rise to the top. Even Ning Jinsui’s marriage is manipulated by this daughter of a minor vice minister of the Ministry of Rites. She is cast as the balancing female character and married off to the woman’s impeccably dressed brother, used to help their entire family rise to power.

Ning Jinsui thinks the dream is utterly ridiculous. Her mother and uncle would never let her marry into a family like that, and she herself would never let someone play her for a fool like this.

A prophetic dream? Then let’s see what this woman is capable of!
