(Period setting + family and neighborhood drama + no spatial system + no golden finger + doting romance + devoted couple)
Food blogger Miao Qingqing wakes up transmigrated into the body of a frail, sickly cannon-fodder character, only to find that she's about to marry a man in a vegetative state.
But this sickly woman already has a husband.
It turns out she'd been taken in by her foster mother as a child, but was never given enough to eat or wear. She did all the housework and farm labor, and even a healthy person would have been worked into a sickly wreck.
The male lead's grandmother took a liking to the foster mother's biological daughter. The foster mother looked down on the male lead when he fell on hard times, but didn't want to give up the betrothal gifts, so she had the sickly girl register her marriage to him. Before they could consummate the marriage, he died.
Then, lured by a generous bride price, the foster mother married the sickly girl off to a man in a vegetative state. The girl fell ill as soon as she entered her husband's home, but her in-laws refused to treat her. A few months later, she died.
Then word arrived that the male lead hadn't died after all and was rising through the ranks. The foster mother married her biological daughter to him, and the two lived happily ever after.
Miao Qingqing's take: “Whoever wants to marry a man in a vegetative state can have him. First, I'll cut ties with my wicked foster mother and her family. Then I'll divorce the male lead, cook my way to wealth, and build a career. Once I've got money and a successful business, will I really have to worry about finding a handsome man?”
But the more Miao Qingqing pushes for a divorce, the better Gu Ting treats her. He hands over his entire salary and bonuses, rushes to do the housework, and does whatever she says. His whole family dotes on her, too. Miao Qingqing is stumped: how is she supposed to get this divorce?
The relationship between the male and female protagonists is sweet. The male protagonist is a very gentle and kind person, and he is committed to making the female protagonist fatter. The female protagonist is either sick or malnourished and in poor health. She is also developing her own career. She is not a love brain. The relationship between the two is very comfortable and warm. The only shortcoming is that it is too short and it ends before I can see enough.
It's an interesting short story, and the extra chapter also explains the follow-up of the supporting characters. I love this kind of story that has a beginning and an end.
Good-looking, good-looking, good-looking
The logic is clear, the female protagonist has a quirky personality, and the male protagonist is very attentive. I personally think it is very interesting, but the chapters are a bit short.
It's good-looking, well-written, and has a good plot.
A short and heart-warming piece of period writing for parents, worth recommending 🤭🤭🤭
Very down-to-earth, gentle and flowing
