Combining modern China's civil-service exam culture with the classic narrative of Water Margin, this story builds a parallel-timeline universe of Liangshan. The protagonist transmigrates as Song Jiang's reincarnation: Li Ming, a modern office drone who has failed the civil-service exam three years in a row. By chance, he activates the Heavenly Leader System, which requires him to sacrifice his sworn brothers in exchange for eligibility to pass the exam. Those so-called brothers are fragments of the souls of the 108 Liangshan heroes, reincarnated as modern people. Each sacrifice earns him a corresponding amount of Loyalty Points and unlocks a path to promotion within the system.
